Cranleigh Golf & Country Club boasts a brand new swimming pool measuring 20 metres in length by 8 metres in width, built during the club’s 2008 redevelopment.

Thanks to the level-deck drainage construction (where the waters lap over the sides into the drainage gully’s) the top 18 inches of water are constantly being filtered and refreshed through state-of-the-art purification systems. As the dirtiest water in a swimming pool is located in the top 18 inches, this ensures the pool stays ultra-clean and crystal clear.

The pool is heated to a temperature between 28 and 30 degrees, ensuring its suitability for the serious lane swimmer as well as the kids.

Accessed directly from the locker rooms, the pool block at Cranleigh is also home to a sauna, steam room, spa pool and outside spa deck – all perfect places to relax after an energising swim.

The pool at Cranleigh is home to designated adult lane swimming as well as Aqua Aerobics (offered free-of-charge to members) and presents an excellent opportunity to vary your personalised fitness programme.

Swimming works practically all of the muscles in the body. It can develop strength, cardiovascular fitness and endurance, and it does it in a non-impact way thereby reducing the risk of injury.

Kicking workouts, water aerobics, pool running, or just regular lane swimming can all give you a great exercise session without the weight of your body pounding you with each move.

Prior to a workout, a quick swim can be a great warm-up session, or post-workout it will help you cool down, move blood through your muscles to help them recover and help you relax as you glide through the water.

Kids love the water and swimming is a great way for them, and you, to exercise and have fun together.

Cranleigh Golf & Country Club has specified “Family Splash” times both at weekends and during the week after school. A time when the inflatable’s come out and the fun really begins!

Throughout the UK, almost 12 million people of all ages and abilities enjoy swimming regularly, whether for fun, fitness or competition. Learning to swim is one of the most important skills a person can develop.
