Social, league or performance tennis, the most fun you will have on a Surrey tennis court…

Ollie Kirk is our head tennis professional at Cranleigh Golf & Country Club

(Head Tennis Professional, Cranleigh Golf & Country Club)

Growing up as a keen sportsman, tennis became my priority in my late teens…

Since then, I’ve enjoyed a productive coaching career and continue to coach and pass on my passion for the game at Cranleigh Golf & Country Club.

I’ve coached at many clubs in the Surrey area and worked alongside some top-level coaches, including Surrey LTA Performance Coach of the Year for 2015 Chris Tucker, and the current British Davis Cup coach Nick Weal.

I was fortunate enough to be to be part of the first Davis Cup Legacy Programme, formerly known as Tennis 4 Kids and it is a scheme where we have had great success with consistently full classes.

In my coaching background, I have worked with many talented juniors who have gone on to achieve county recognition and received regional and national awards, which is always pleasing to see when you have played a small part in helping youngsters realise their potential.

Regarding my own development as a coach, I am always looking to progress and to learn from other coaches or new courses to improve, both my own coaching and the players I work with.

Improving your tennis with basic technique, learning the game and gaining more enjoyment from a sport, is not age-specific. Anyone can play better tennis with some key pointers and practice.

But above all, the main priority is to enjoy tennis. The noise of laughter and enjoyment from the Cranleigh tennis courts is a regular soundtrack at the club and we are always happy to welcome new faces who would like to join us.

We offer a fun and exciting environment for your child to learn each and every time they step on to the tennis court with any of our coaches.

We believe that the learning environment is the key to a child’s development. Gone are the days of standing in lines waiting for your turn. In the lessons that your child will attend, the action starts when they step on the court and finishes when they leave.
