Dan is a committed and approachable fitness professional with a first-hand understanding of the benefits of regular exercise.
After being diagnosed with hyper flexibility following a kickboxing grading, Dan began exercising in the gym to ensure that this condition had minimal impact on his life.
A firm believer that long lasting, sustainable results come through exercise, healthy nutrition and a balanced lifestyle, Dan likes to encourage his clients to reach their full potential and achieve their goals. Dan enjoys forming friendships and educating his clients to ensure that results are both achieved and permanent.
Weight Loss and Muscle Tone
In order to create a more toned or defined appearance, we must reduce our body fat percentage whilst promoting the growth of new muscle. More muscle doesn’t mean you’ll get bigger if you’re trying to lose weight. In fact it’s helps! More muscle (greater muscle tone) will boost your metabolism and will calorie expenditure at rest, as well as for up to the next 48 hours after exercise as your body repairs its recovering muscle tissue. Long gone are the days believing “cardio” is the best method for weight loss! Understanding that nutrition also plays a huge part in any progress, Dan will balance your fat loss with muscle gains to create a leaner and stronger physique.
Strength and Muscle Gains
Developing a stronger, more muscular physique has an array of benefits. From increased strength, improved bone density, a faster metabolism, daily tasks becoming easier and, of course, there’s the aesthetics too. Age-related muscle loss (sacrophenia) is a natural part of aging as, from the age of 30, you begin to lose up to 5% per decade. But do not fear! By implementing the correct nutrition and the right training techniques in the gym, Dan has the proven formula to tackle this natural process head on and encourage the growth of new muscle at any age.
Educating and Understanding
Believing that knowledge is power, Dan chooses to educate his clients to ensure that adherence and results are achieved. Starting with the basics, building a sound foundation of understanding and ability, Dan is able to train clients of all levels looking for informative and enjoyable, yet challenging, sessions. By truly wanting what’s best for his clients, Dan equips them with the knowledge and tools to train individually outside of his sessions resulting in their goals being achieved sooner.
“I have been training with Dan for nearly two years now after a knee injury which had a huge impact on my confidence and motivation. Over time, Dan has played a major role in taking my overall fitness, strength and flexibility way beyond my expectations by always encouraging me to push that bit further and have confidence in my own abilities. Dan is always professional, but so much fun too. He has a wide breadth of knowledge and his enthusiasm is infectious. Every session is different and he is never afraid to try new or different ways of achieving results. After every training session, I always feel I have progressed and achieved something, however small.”
“Tragic personal circumstances left me low and neglecting my health and wellbeing. Finally, I got the courage to take control and booked my first PT session with Dan. I chose Dan as I heard him training someone at the gym when I was trying (unsuccessfully) to motivate myself into getting fitter and stronger – and I was impressed with his encouraging and informative approach. Since that day, I have not looked back. I am stronger, fitter and have controlled my weight. I look forward to every session and have a real sense of achievement each week.”
